Whether you believe the words of the Interim Headmistress and Guidance Counselor or not, the storm refuses to abate, blowing at the windows so hard that often the woods outside are erased from view. Still, the windows offer nary a rattle, the walls do not bend. Within its walls, Rosenblum Hall protects that which it claims as its own.

You're all here for now, right? Might as well get comfy.

The world outside may be away from you, but Rosenblum Hall is here for you. Rosenblum Hall will always be here for you. Unless you decide to die in the snowstorm. No one could blame you.

[Tiera hears the crash and rushes over-then grins when she sees the carnage. She lets out a hoot of approval, before approaching closer.]

I am thinking it is too well reinforced, very unfortunately.

[Tiera nods.] Stay warm, need solid wall. [She moves a bit closer, poking the now-demolished tree.] Fake tree. No good craft or burn.

[She looks disappointed about that.]

...Oh. It is fake. I see...

So that is why needles are not smelling strongly of pine.

[Tiera nods.] Make sense. Big snow storm, no time go cut tree. Get fake tree more easy.

Yes, and you can use fake tree every year instead of just one year. Less of a fire hazard too, maybe? Father would worry about real tree because of that...

[hootheart]

[She nods in agreement.] Pine needle easy burn. More easy burn if add fire, light. Need careful watch, careful pick decoration.

And also water frequently, I think? We gave up on live tree pretty early on because of Father's worries.

[Tiera chirps in agreement. Although she's never really been the type for Christmas trees at all-it's more her observations about trees in general that she's picked up from her parental figures.] Alena dad many worry. But worry tree fire make sense.

I think it makes more sense to have live potted tree than cut tree. Less likely to dry out and catch fire and then you can plant it and have nice memento.

[Tiera nods in agreement, before nudging the tree with her foot.]

Big tree equals big pot. Pot, dirt add more weight. Some person not strong enough carry tree plus pot. [It's a sad fact of life that some people are limited in such a way, alas.]

Well, perhaps if martial arts do not work out I can set up trees. That is unlikely to happen, however.

Agree. Fight job best Alena job.

I am sure it will pay bills, so it is nothing to worry about. But I suppose I can help friends with it.

[hootheart]

[A firm nod.] Help friend, also good. Not all talent need become job.

...You know, I am not needing to worry as much about job, thinking about it, but it would be preferable to stand on my feet instead of relying on family name.

[hootheart]

[...right. Alena's so rough-and-tumble in a relatable way that Tiera sometimes forgets her circumstances. She smiles agreeably.]

Good idea. Rely on name, lazy, sometimes name also give bad first impression.

[Is she vagueing a certain teen CEO? At least in her own mind, she definitely is.]

Right. I am thinking my father is generally not thought of badly? But even so, like you said, it is lazy to just expect everyone to respect me because of name.

[hootheart]

Agree. Not know Alena dad. Far away, less familiar. [Her expression is slightly apologetic. But she's always been more concerned with her immediate surroundings. Still, she'll trust Alena's own assessment for now.]

I imagine he will be here after this. He will be worried enough to get a plane right away, so you might know him someday...

[Tiera nods.] Maybe soon, then. Hope soon. [After all, if he can get here, that'll mean the storm has stopped.]

I hope so too. It would keep things from going bad, I think...

Hope Alena dad not say need go home, because this. If Alena go, would miss.

I would not leave, certainly. He could not make me.
