fifth investigation

Friday slinks in and, while you don't know it, this is the last one you'll spend here. But that doesn't mean there isn't work to be done, and a game to be played. There's no telling if the ghosts are here or not, but the walls and hallways seem the same as ever while you file out of your rooms. There's a day to face out there.

After all, what could go wrong?

[Hawke is forcibly dragged into consciousness by Varric licking her face for breakfast. She whines and almost pulls the blankets over her head before she remembers what day it is and what was discussed last night.

...did Satsuki come get her at all last night?]

[ Thomasin wakes up, rolls out of bed, and immediately goes to knock on Mariko's door. ]

[It's really quiet in there.

But-- Mariko, alive that she is, opens the door after a moment. Her hair is barely even brushed.]

[ hatsune, breaking from her usual pattern, has slept in B-4 the past couple of nights. she's not entirely sure what drove that, but it might be for something as simple as wanting to feel somehow closer to lottie.

we hear the storm, and it hears us.

she takes a deep breath in the mirror, pulling on her coat and grabbing her travel mug. another friday morning, another search to do. showtime.

she's going to make for the tunnels by way of the library and conservatory. ]

[ The tunnels are clear! Not a single one of you has murdered in the creepy tunnels. I think that deserves a medal. ]

[Hawke told her to go check on everyone else, so since Hatsune and Mariko are both accounted for she's going to start out by knocking on the door to Room B-3 to check on Mei.]

A BODY HAS BEEN DISCOVERED

Satsuki is dead. I'm waiving the "three of you have to see the body" thing. Find the evidence.

[When Hawke's screams subside, she can't let go of Satsuki right away. She'd half-heard the announcement, dimly aware of the use of her actual name instead of a title, and that's a change to think about later. Right now she has a job to do and, truthfully, no idea how to do it...but that's never stopped her from trying before.

How much blood are we seeing here and is there an immediately obvious wound source?]

Satsuki went and died just like she said, fucking idiot. What kind of attention seeking self-loathing bullshit is this? She hates her, hates her, hates her!!

When Mariko's got herself put together, she returns to the source of her rage. Anything immediately amiss?]
