The Field Program
Since the founding of Burnbriar, students have enjoyed the spirited competition known as the Field Program. Upon acceptance to the school, each student is sorted to be either a Hare, a Fox, or an Eagle, a tradition dating back to when Burnbriar was a New England manor house schooling only the Burnbriar family themselves. Teams will compete in several good-natured events throughout the school year, culminating finally in the Field Days celebration before the end of school at the Summer Solstice. The spirit of competition has forged rivalries and friendships alike throughout the ages, one of many traditions you could become part of as a student here.
The Burning Briar
The school newspaper and quarterly literary journal, the Burning Briar has always been propelled by a radical spirit and a desire to push the boundaries of what a "school paper" can be. All students are welcome to submit articles, stories, poetry, collages, cartoons - whatever it is they wish to see, the Burning Briar shall consider! For more information, please submit any inquiries to the head editor.
Skullbriar
While Apex serves as the traditional honors society, Skullbriar acts instead as the closest thing Burnbriar has to one of the so-called Secret Societies at Ivy League and other well-regarded schools. Membership is exclusive, but fair, and the duties of a Skullbriar girl are demanding, but the connections you will forge and the memories you make are sure to stay with you for the rest of your days.
